How Can severe Abdominal Pain Be Treated?

I have been feeling abdominal pain since Thursday evening (after eating a high fat meal). It reminded me of severe gas attacks I had after my 2 c-sections, but Gas-X has not relieved it. It started with a duller pain in high middle area of stomach, above navel, and is punctuated with severe sharp or cramping pain in upper right side of abdomen. I am a female, significantly overweight and in my late 40s. My question is whether it sounds serious enough to go immediately to urgent care (as in I m home alone with 2 autistic daughters until husband returns home after 8 pm) or can this be put off and I call doc tomorrow?

Hi, I think you can take some pain killers and antacids. If pain persists, consult a doctor. You may need injectable for relief of pain. Get a ultrasound done to rule out any gall bladder problem. It can be due to some gall stones.
